Setting the defaults for importing to an external drive

I am looking to set the default drives used for importing images.

 

I do not store my images on the C: drive which Lightroom seems to default to. I want to set it to use an external drive, drive F:.

 

Does anyone know how to do this please?

    AFAIK, you cannot do that.  Since images can be imported from many different locations including from hard drives (meaning that they are not moved to a new location) specifying a default location for imports hasn't been provided.  I know, it's a little annoying to have to work your way down the tree, but I haven't seen any other way to do it.

    Thats really annoying. I have had to copy so many files over manually, as it always says C. Anyway of asking for this as a setting to be added?

    You can do this provided you choose Copy, Copy as DNG or Move as your choices in the import module.  My default is to copy everything to drive Q:. LR remembers it each time.  Are you using Add instead?

    I am doing the same, Copy, to drive F, but it resets to drive C each time as the 'Destination'  folder. Are you doing anything different to get it to remember Q?

    Are you selecting a folder in F (ie. F:\pictures\ or just the Drive?

    Yes, Im selecting the drive letter and then the subdirectory, which is a few directories lower....

    f:\pictures\pictures\main picture library\
