I'm having a terrible time with a class project because no matter what I do I can't seem to wrap my head around how to write actions. It is literally like learning how to read all over again...
The image above is the main background for my flash file. It is made up of two movie clips (Land and Sky) with transparencies. My goal is to create a "shift" between the two so that if you move the mouse towards the left the land will move towards the left and the sky will move towards the right and vice versa. I want the shift to be very subtle. Neither movie clip will move a whole lot. I hope this makes sense to someone and you might be able to help. I've looked at countless tutorials and I still can't figure out where to even begin. ANY help will be most appreciated!
Show the code you have tried that is not working. It should be utilizing a MOUSE_MOVE event listener who's event handler function adjusts the position of the movieclips based on the mouseX value.
Still working on getting some code together that I think might be remotely close. I kind of moved on to the other components for right now because the project is due shortly. You definitely pointed me in the right direction though and I really appreciate it! I'll update this soon. THANK YOU, NED!
