Sometimes when I use pathfinder functions, the results move points around where they shouldn't. For example, I'm trying to cut off a corner of this letter T. When I apply DIVIDE, it makes the proper slice but it moves all of the other points in the T. I have checked that I do not have any snap-to preferences turned on. Any idea how I can fix this recurring problem?
If this has already been answered, please just direct me to the thread. Otherwise, thank you in advance for any advice.
I'm using Illustrator 5.5 on a Macbook Pro 2.66 i7.
Thanks again. One question-- sometimes it still moves those points and turns ON Align to Pixel Grid AFTER the transformation (even if it's turned off before the transformation). If I turn it off after, the movements have already occurred and they don't move back.
Thanks for any advice,
You'll have to turn it off completely, not only for the selected object. This option is in the New document dialog box resp. the new document profiles. For existing documents, see in the transform panel's menu
