Having problems exporting Illustrator files as in PNG format.

I have a full color illustration I am trying to export as a PNG for a client. I have a diamond shaped logo comprised of a large white diamond with a smaller black inside it. The whole file exports fine excepth the logo turns completely black. I even tried a test file comprised of a simple white rectangle on top of a color background. Inside that rectangle I added a smaller black rectangle. When exported as a PNG, I ended up with a completely black rectagle on a color background. It also happens when I save for web. What can I do to resolve the problem. Thanks.

    Select your white diamond shape, and check that there are no checks for overprint in Atributes.

    Thanks Mike. The attribute of Overprint was the problem. Thanks for replying so quickly. It really saved me with my client.
