how do you delete a thread in this section?

 

Worried someone may copy my website. I thought you could edit your post

    Just edit the post and remove the website address.

     

    Why would anyone want to copy your website?

    You must login to the forum to see the Edit button.

     

    However, you cannot edit any of your posts that someone has replied to.

    As an FYI, these forum posts are picked up by Google.  Once it's out there, it's in forever-land.

    In the future, create a test page. When your question is answered, remove the test page from your server.

    I'm completly confused   How do you expect that removing a post would prevent someone from copying your website? Your website is on the web, right?

    but surely if the URL was removed from my first post it of my other thread.

     

    It would resolve the issue.

    It's for my college work. Part of the process is to upload the website to a domain name. I'm worried that other people can just use my HTML code & CSS without my permission. I worked hard making this website and I only posted the URL thinking I could remove it earlier.

     

    In other words if someone copies my website I could fail as well :@

    Again, why would anyone want to copy your website anyway?

     

    If you're that worried about it, password protect the link.

    I think you're being overly paranoid.  When your site is published on the web, the source code is available for everyone to see by viewing source in their browser.   Removing the URL from an old post won't change anything.  It's already out there.  Google has indexed your posts.

    OK. In the url that you posted here, create some real garbage content. Then create a new unpublished subfolder and put your real classwork content there.
