Why can't ACR 6.7 install as a plugin in Lightroom 3?

I tried to download and install ACR 6.7 and it works fine in Photoshop 5, but will not install into Lightroom 3. How can I make that install properly?

    You can't. Camera Raw is a plug-in for Photoshop. Lightroom uses an entirely different code–even if it's the same processing pipeline. If you want to use a camera only supported in ACR 6.7, you'll have to download the free DNG Converter 6.7 and convert the files to DNG.
