two pages on 8 1/2" x 11" landscape  >>> one page on 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" portrait :    HOW ?

In order to save time, I scanned a small book on our copier/scanner at 8 1/2" x 11", two pages at a time.

 

I want to divide each of the scanned pages into two smaller pages, to match the original document.

 

Can I do this in an automated fashion, without individually cropping hundreds of pages?
