Cursor next to lasso tool

Mar 26, 2012 8:05 AM

Ok, what I am finding annoying is the cursor next to the lasso tool. Please tell me that this is going to go away when CS6 is released. It is very annoying to try and make a selection when you have to look at the cursor but know that the lasso is where the selection will land.

Give it a chance. After working with it for a while, I now prefer it. I find it is more accurate and consistent from tool to tool.

I absolutely agree. A cursor with two points! Ugh, totally silly and less useable. I hate it.

Could you provide a screenshot to show us what you're talking about?

    Normally there's only one cursor.

But we have seen video card driver bugs that could cause extra cursors.

Sure, see below. I assumed it was an intentional design decision, but maybe not.

I much prefer the CS5 version as the lasso icon acts as both an identifier and the actual cursor. Adding the arrow causes a visual struggle between the tip of the arrow and the tip of the cursor, in terms of the origin point of the selection. Of course, like anything, I'm sure my eye will get used to it over time, but I'm not sure why the change was needed in the first place.

I much prefer the new cursor. There is now some standardization between the tools, and I find the arrow point more accurate.
