using local/testing server with cs5 inserting images look fine in the split screen but do not show

If I open example: header.php and insert any photo jpeg/.html ecs i can see the images in the split screen but not in the browser if i save then refresh. I am able to make any change to the code ecs. and they are reflected just fine. I have tried this with my fireworks images .html and when that did not work i tried a strait jpeg off the desktop. This all did not work. I have deleted the local server then step by step created a new one via devnet instruction. This did not work! everything looks fine i even tried in 3 sep browsers with 0 luck....There is no remote server connected at this time because i am making a child theme for my current site. After all changes are done we will the ftp the word press files to site and change.

Ps i even started over from scratch with 0 positive affects....

please let me know the correct format for the clickable header above or am i making a mistake exporing this? i also tried without the coments. If you see the issue please give me all the settings for fireworks please include "advanced" options as well and make shore the options on page 1 of the fireworks exporter are included.

if issue just need the how prosses please inclued where to export the file to in child theme ecs....

also i was thinking becouse its on the localserver maybe an issue there? with the ports settings??? but i just don't know if this could be the issue please let me know the prefered ports fom mamp (mac)

Ps please keep in mind i also tried images off the net, jpg,ecs...

There is a character mismatch in the double quotes in your code. I think it's to do with the language/ multi-lingual keyboard you may be using.

No. You could remove all lines starting with  These are only comments. They have no action in the browser.

Also, I guess you're still learning to do web designing. Usage of map co-ordinates for creating multiple links with a single image is not best practice. You would want to use individual images for links inside of a DIV tag.

But assuming you're creating this for a college project or something, this should work.

I doubt its a problem with Fireworks.

What is your geographical location? Are you using a foreign language keyboard interface?

Your code contains left double and right double quotes. HTML only reads plain double quotes for code tags. If you're unable to get plain double quotes, you may want to try " instead of just pressing " on your keyboard.

so if i inport images and then link a url per image, its done via fireworks in the properties inspector. There is only 1 url linked to 1 image is this not correct?

please explain what you ment its not clear also we need to know what you changed and why your version of the code should work??

The difference is the 'double quote' mark that you're using to reference DW to the files/ code.

This is what your code has.
This is what your code should have.

The quotes in your code are left and right double quotes that DW reads as 'text'. The code I changed it to is simple double quote that DW uses inline in the code.

The problem may lie if you had installed FW/ Adobe Suite in a different foreign language other than English. It may, rarely also happen if your installation is corrupt.

There is no such setting in FW that you could change to get the 'double quotes' in the right way. FW should ideally, by default take care of this for you. I'm also wondering why it doesn't!

The temporary solution I see here is that you copy the " in your code, hit Ctrl + F(Win) or Cmd + F(Mac) and find for " in all your code and replace it with " that I have used in mine.

Ok now i have tried your code and it did not work also i have uninstalled fireworks then reinstalled back to factory. then i opened a .png file and saved it in the root of the child theme. I then explored the supporting docs to the same root .gif and .html as stated before we also tried a jpg file that we did not create and this did not work as well it just will not show in the browser...

in firefox its blank

in safari its there but has a blue box with question mark

in crumb same as safari

Question in "live" view with a split screen we can not see the image but if we just have "split" highlighted you can then see the photo/image is this right? if you use live view its gone and the page is blank.

Could the dream waver apt be corrupt?

any other ideas ?

After a lot of pain!!!!!!! the issue is fixed lol After 3 weeks I have overlooked the obvious !!! so the simple fix was the path of the image. Yes i feel stupid 10 years in lol....

Apparently dreamweaver cs 5 will not use the full path when inserting images into the page example: If you drag the image out of your assets folder or however you do it, DW will give you a path like this <img src="images/glass.jpg" width="800" height="729"> This is not the full path and when your pist!!! you cant see things like that ;( so the image path should look like this:

also in the html files example of bad then good!
