Can you please help me? I wanted to edit my videos in CS5, but I was wondering why it can't read my videos? I mean, in CS4, I'm still using the same videos to import and no problem at all.
Did you upgrade your codecs to 64 bit?
General remark: If you need extra codecs, you are using the wrong application. You are better off with a consumer application like WMM, Magix and the like or with material from a video camera you shot yourself.

If you have a red line over the timeline after importing a video and before adding any
effects... your project is wrong for your video... read above about codecs
Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information...
and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline,
which indicates a mismatch between video and project
