How do I find the actionscript?

Hello. This seems like it should be a pretty simple question, but I can't figure it out. How do I find the actioscript associated with a movei-clip button in a template? I'd like to make changes to the actionscript, but I can't find it. I have a MacBook Pro.

    look in the actions panel.   you can search for a number of things using the movie explorer panel.

     

    but i have yet to see a template that was anything other than an un-mitigated mess clearly created by someone that has no idea how to program or is competent but intentionally created a mess to prevent others from editing it.

    I can bring up an actions panel and a movie explorer, but neither looks like it has anything in it. I don't know if I'm reading them correctly, thoough.

    there are toggle iconds at the top of the actions panel.  mouse over the icons for tooltips.  depress the icon(s) to search for those items.
