Fastest way to copy content from one CQ instance to another?

I have to copy a fairly large amount of content (>10GB of /content/dam, >3 sites with several hundreds of pages each) from one CQ instance to another. Does anybody have some experience on that topic and knows what the fastest way is, to do that?

 

Colleagues suggested the vlt tool, but I am in doubt, if this still is maintained, becaues documentation states CRX 2.3 (http://dev.day.com/docs/en/crx/current/how_to/how_to_use_the_vlttool.h tml#Common Tasks Performed in VLT).

Remark: The network is pretty fast, so transferring 10GB+ from one server to another might not be the bottle neck for me.

    Hi,

     

    The alternative would be to use Package Manager to create content packages.  But this involves downloading the .zip to your local computer and then uploading it back to the other instance.

     

    I would say that your colleagues are right... have a look at the VLT RCP command.
