PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I am using Premiere elements 10. I have 451 GB on my hard drive free, I have a 48 min video that I HAVE to burn to DVD. and I keep getting this error message. I am getting VERY frustrated becasue I cannot figure this out. Currently I do not have an external hard drive and I believe that 451 GB is a decent amout of space left on hard drive. My drive is set up as NTSF . I have also defraged the computer. help help help help! I volunteered to make a movie of my 4th graders school play I have it all done I just can't get it too burn to the DVD
These messages are not specifically about PrEl but the ideas are the same... especially writing a folder to your hard drive and then using Imgburn to burn that folder to disc
Things and Software to AVOID when authoring/burning a DVD

#2 has WHY Explained http://forums.adobe.com/thread/607390
Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer
Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer

What is a CODEC... a Primer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/546811
What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing
If you have a red line over the timeline after importing a video and before adding any effects... your project is wrong for your video... read above about codecs
Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information... and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline, which indicates a mismatch between video and project
H.264 will NOT work inside an AVI http://forums.adobe.com/thread/854115
More information needed for someone to help... click these links and provided the requested information
Ok I am reading and investagating...I have had no problems with editing or playing back before burning..... the video was taped on a sony HD AVCHD handycam player, the file when i go into properties of the video itself is a M2TS file...could that be the problem? Do I have to convert it into something else? I also have no red bars or anything else that I can see just this silly error message at 99% at the end of burning DVD.
This shouldn't beso complicated. This is the first time I have worked with Video Thanks in advance for help
First thing to do... write your DVD output to a folder and use Imgburn to then write to disc (links above)
If that works, you know that you have "something" that will not allow PreEl to talk to the drive... per the links I've already posted
And, some more reading... again, may not be specific to PreEl, but all Adobe video editing software works about the same
