PDF files are shown as a blank document icon on the desktop or in a folder.

How can I get them to display properly with the  PDF icon?

Mac OS -  Leopard

Adobe Reader v 9.5.1

thanks

Please verify that Adobe Reader 9.5.1 is set as default viewer for PDF file types. If this doesn't helps you, Can you please send us the screenshot of the icon that you are seeing. We would also recommend you to upgrade your Reader 9 to Adobe Reader X from here.

I guess that is the PDF preview that you are seeing. Can you please try the following steps:

    1. Place the pdf file on your desktop.

    2. Either right-click or Ctrl+Left Click on desktop so that the context menu appears.

    3. Select "Show View Options" from that menu.

    4. Now uncheck the option that says: "Show icon preview".

Now you should see the default PDF icon. Please let us know if this doesn't helps you.

    Thanks Stead.

One more query, are you using a PowerPC or Intel based Mac?

And please mark this post as answered so that anyother person facing a similar issue would know what to do.
