Bad color.

I have Windows 7, Canon Pro 9000 II and a new Elements 10. I have installed the Canon software driver and their bacis editing software that comes with the printer and Elements 10. My reds come out brown using no PP. My %D mark II and printer are both set to RGB. Using either software. Also with the printer unplugged from the computer and printing straight from the camera. Just selecting a jpeg and hitting print. I uninstalled everything and restored my computer setting to before the install of the printer and Elements. I then reinstalled the printer software without Elements and now my red is red and accurate. Using Canon's best paper. I don't want to give up on photoshop. I would like to use it as my only software. If I uninstall the printer software again and start all over, what settings on the printer, Elements 10 and Window 7 would you recommend? Should I eliminate the basic Canon editing software? Would it make any difference?
