56% higher pricing in Switzerland... Way to go Adobe!

Apr 23, 2012 12:46 PM

USD pricing: 49.99 USD / mth for an annual subscription.

CHF pricing: 70.20 CHF / mth

70.20 CHF in USD is 70.20 CHF / 0.9 which is approximately 78 USD, which is exactly 56% higher than the US pricing!

The worse part is the dollar has lost about 30% of it's value vs the CHF over the past 5 years. If for any reason a 56% increase was acceptable, which it isn't, this last fact makes it even more excessive.

If your problem is localization, then give me the f***** option to buy the US English version. Don't expect me to overpay for something that is not deserved. Thank you Adobe, your pricing schedule is a clear encouragement of piracy. At least now we know you support that alternative pricing model!

What is the customs and VAT in Switzerland? The 50 USD in US transforms into about 50 EUR in Poland, so it's not Switzerland problem only. It's the same with iTunes store too. Get an American citizenship and that solves the problem

Actually it is about the same for businesses in Austria.

    49,99 USD to 49,99 EUR

    but

    49,99 USD is 38,31 EUR

That is about 25 % price difference if you are a company and they let you deduct tax, which is ridiculous. Not even sure if they deduct their 23 % VAT if you purchase as a company,

at my profile I didn't find and settings for EU Tax Nr. (UID).

Also tried to locate a reseller, but they even charge you 63 EUR net per month for a one year prepayment option. (Thats really twices as much).

And no mather, if you choose english or multilanguage, as they exist in both currencies - the price difference is here.

You should just let us choose which currency to take as other companies do aswell.

But for me it's a ripoff aswell letting me stick with the old versions we have.

I know there are upgrade plans for the first year, but thats one year only (and the price difference is still the same percentage).

We also educate people, but edu versions do not apply then, only for teachers and students.

And 25 % is a lot of money you have to pay each and every month, even I like the Cloud approach,

as it seems a better choise than boxed versions so far.

Is there any discounts available if you purchase more than one, didn't find anything actually.

    Thanks

    Patrick
