how to undo "always open in Adobe Reader"

i saved my bookmarks to the desktop and in so doing a adobe reader screen came up and i checked always open with adobe reader and i want to undo this.when i try to open it cannot.  and if i try to save again it goes directly into adobe reader.  what is the problem and how can i undo it
