Helo my Illustrator CS4 keeps shutting down everytime I tried to click on the "OPEN" icon on the startup screen which ask what you want to do.

please provide me with a solution, I recently re-installed the entire CS4 suite on my windows 7 for a second time. The first installation most of the applications had just dissappeared.

Did you actually trash the prefs? If not, do so. Otehr than that this could be anything from graphics driver issues to permissions issues when attempting to access specific folders, but since you did not provide any info, it's anybody's guess as to what the actual cause may be.

Can you close that startup screen and then create the new file from the nemu bar just to check.

Also can you check in the new user account does it work fine?

There is a no way to craete the new user account in Illustrator also no need to uninstall the Illustartor.

Just create a new user account of Windows from control panel....and then login out from old account and login into the new account, open teh Illustrator as it will be listed in the program files , create the file and try and save it.

NOTE: make the new user account as Administrator not standard.
