How do I make a symbol rotate in the timeline

    are you asking how to timeline tween an on-stage object?

    I've tried to do it with a tween but it doesn't have a smooth rotation

    what's your frame rate and tween duration?

    25 frames per second / 20 frames

    how smooth can that be?  if you're rotatiing an object 360 degrees over 20 frames, that's 18 degrees each frame.  that cannot look smooth.

    Create a classic tween and set the rotation to CW or CWW (depending on which way you want it to rotate) x 1 (or more if you want it to rotate more times). Like kglad said, increase the length of the tween if you want to have it smoother (but slower).
