Hello and welcome to the forum,

Normally the background audio will play continuously unless you want to stop it for a slide. It can play simulteanously with slide audio. And if you insert an object with audio attached, the audio will play as well.  But perhaps I understand your question not correctly. Please explain more in that case.

Is it possible to add background audio to just a few slides in the project?

Do you want the possibility of a background audio, like having it adjust automatically its volume if other audio is added?

In that case, same scenario as in my last answer: import background audio to first slide, then mute it on the slide where you do not want it.

If you do not need those functionalities, add slide audio and distribute it over multiple slides. Of course, this means that it has a certain duration, contrary to normal background audio.

Is it possible to have one audio file across multiple slides (like the video)?

When you import an audio file that is longer than the present slide duration you already get this dialog box, where you can choose to spread across multiple slides:

Hello, I have a problem with the audio in captivate. I have to use 2 or more audio on different buttons within the same slide. The procedure I use to do this is active "The success caption" on each button and imported sounds to use in each of these. The problem is that everything works perfectly but when you press a button starts the audio could not stop it, and if you press the other button sounds overlap and we can not understand anything. Is there a way to generate some button that allows to stop a specific audio to other audio pressing not confuse these?

Is it possible to use variables that trigger one of the buttons cut the audio from another and so on?. The important thing is that you can also turn on and off countless times and not once.

    Does anyone can help me?.

Thank you very much for all the help, and sorry for my english because it is not my native language.

Have a look at my blog post:

    Audio objects: control them!

The idea is that you can stop audio by hiding the object it is attached to.

In Captivate version 6.0 I need to know how do I sync up an imported audio file with the annimation "clicks" in an existing Power Point slide.  I loaded a Power Point presentation build by an SME and now I am uploading previously recorded audio files to the slides.  The annimation runs on its own and I need it to sync to the script.  Please Help!

When I add background audio in Captive 6 and select it to loop and fade in and out, the audio loops but fades in and out at the end of each loop instead of just at the beginning and end of the project.  In Captivate 5 it works properly.  Is this a known issue?  I could use Captivate 5, but in there I can't use alpha on the playback controls in the skin and I want that feature as well.

Correction to my original post: actually, there is an option to use alpha on the playback controls in the player skins in Captivate 5, but I can't publish to mp4 from Captivate 5, so I'd rather use Captivate 6.

I've been chatting with tech support about this issue and in fact it is an issue in Captivate 6, but not the earlier versions.  The issue has been escalated to a Senior Support Team, so when I hear back from someone at Adobe about a solution, I'll update this post.

I am trying to create a presentation that has several .flv files on individual slides along with picture slides and slides with attached  audio.  I want to add background audio but when I do, the flv files will not play.  I have tried the stop background audio button both on and off for the flv slides but the video will neither autostart nor start when the forward button is clicked.
