I am working on a project for my company and I would like to get some insight.
This is what needs to be done. I need to create a form that a user would go to a website and fill out, then the form with the information would go to a group(for this presentation I will call this Group 1)
So here is the work flow.
User fills in fields needed by user -> Group 1 gets form with all information and form extends so that Group 1 can put in nessesary fields -> Group 2 gets form with all info from User and Group 1, Also extends and Group 2 needs to fill out certain fields -> Group 3 gets everything from previous fields filled out and form extends for more info -> Group 4 gets form with previous info and form extends for more info -> Group 1 gets finished form.
This is just a workflow but I dont know how to create this chain of events and I think Acrobat is what I need to use. If there is a simple way of doing this please explain it to me with all the programs needed.
Exactly what do you mean when you say "form extends"? How many initial users of the form that's on the web site will there be? Is is possible that someone in groups 1-3 will have Acrobat, at least Standard?
Sorry for the confusion.
So the user is going to request a server to be built. I don't know how often a user will request a server but when it happens they will fill out the Users part. Let me try to explain it in a different way.
There will be 5 parts to the form
2. Group 1 section
3. Group 2 section
4. Group 3 section
5. Group 4 section
Users will fill out the Users section without knowledge of the other section.
Group 1 will recieve this info. They will need to see the Users section along with Group 1's section. They fill out Group 1 section.
Group 2 will recieve info from User and Group 1. They will need to see Users, Group 1, and Group 2's sections.
Let me know if I need to explain more.
EDIT: Also...Not every group will have Acrobat. This needs to work with Reader!
Will the form ever go back to any of the prior groups and if so, should they see the other groups input.
If not, then you will need to have special code installed on each users system to access the identity object in Acrobat/Reader.
