polygon imagemap not working

Feb 9, 2010 8:42 PM

Under attributes, I choose "Polygon" as the image map shape. When I export the file, the imagemap option is set to Client-side (.htm
l). It creates the html but in the html source code, the shape has been set to "rect" not "poly" and the coordinates are for a recta
ngle, not a polygon. The polygon option in attributes does not appear to be working. Is there something else that needs to be done?
Operating System: Windows XP Professional

Illustrator CS4

You might nit like this response and I do not know if this is a bug or the way it was designed but the good news is you can do what you want but…you have ti use save for device and web and if you need top quality use the original from save for the device and web rather than one of the optimized versions.

Although file size and loading time would be better with an optimized version.

This will work even if it is not quite what you want.

Same thing happened to me. I could only get it to work if the shape I wanted to export was a single path. Check your layers to make sure the objects you are trying to export are not compound paths.

The imagemap in attributes panel is meant for save for web, does nto work with PDFs. This is much easier to do in either InDesign or Acrobat Pro.
