Can I create InDesign Doc to be used as Word Template?

Need to create template in InDesign that end user can add data, tables, text, images etc to in Word that will be printed and displayed online?

Possible, easy to do?

If it's to be edited in Word, you should create the template in Word. InDesign has nothing to do with it.

Use Word to make the template. If you do not have Word, there is a possibility to use LibreOffice and create the template. LO is an OpenSource office suite, so no cost.

Thanks guys!

That was my thinking, just wanted to be sure I was not missing something! I don't have Word-Mac all the way-don't want Word and can't imagine trying to do something as complicated as they want in Word either!

You would be surprised what one can do in Word. Once upon a time, we had to have every word processor imaginable installed to handle client docs and requests. LibreOffice is free (OpenSource) and has a Mac version:

It can save as a docx file. Depending upon how complicated complicated is, there will be varying degrees of an exact port when you save it as a docx format. However, if this is a job and or client you want to keep Word is only real viable means of meeting their desire with a high guarantee of success.
