Will there be Canon 5D Mk3 RAW plugin support for Photoshop CS4?

Apr 23, 2012 8:10 PM

I have Photoshop CS4, and have not upgraded to CS5. I have a Canon 5D MkIII, and I currently am unable to process the RAW images.

Nope. You will either have to upgrade or use the newest DNG converter. Support for Photoshop CS4 and ACR 5.x ended as soon as Photoshop CS5 was released.

And support for CS5 and ACR 6.x ends Monday, May 7, when CS6 begins shipping.

If you buy CS5 now, you get CS6 for free.  Offer ends on Sunday, I believe.

But CS6/ACR can't read the 5Dmk3 raw files. Even though I have pre-ordered the upgrade and it wasn't for free, (CS5E owner) I have CS5  on my computer as a separate installation because CS6 has no support for my G1X or my 5D3.  Hope this is updated before the CS6 release date.

Many people do, and I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't update it to at least match the support in the 6.7 RC - but they may not, instead relying on the update mechanism to deliver new camera support down the line some time.

It's all a big pipeline that just keeps flowing.
