Apr 25, 2012 9:54 AM

Hi Folks,

just wondering when Adobe is gonna implement the "Automatic Synchronization of Crowd Sourced Videos"

in Premiere as shown on the Adobe MAX 2011:

http://tv.adobe.com/watch/max-2011-sneak-peeks/max-2011-sneak-peek-aut omatic-synchronization-of-crowd-sourced-videos-/

Please just give me a raw guess about the release.

Regards

Karsten

    Hi Karsten,

I think the word is If rather than when.  Companies will sometimes show promising research projects in order to guage customer reaction.  If there is sufficient interest they may decide to develop it further.   It can take several years to turn a research project to an actually shipping code.  The best way to make your voice heard in the process is to fill out their feature request form.

    Best,

Some companies are doing this already or will be very soon (e.g. Singular Software). We'll have to see if the concept takes off.

All I can say is...I'd hate to be the editor on a job that has several different cell phone videos as it's only media.

There are several sites that do this for concerts already, such as SwitchCam:

But CloudEyes (not yet released) sounds more suitable for your needs:

Ist depends on The Money u can make with it...;-)

There's the rub.  A client comes to me with a bunch of cell phone videos, he's probably not going to have a budget in the "NYC production work" neighborhood, yet such a project will still require that much work (even with the proposed feature).
