Dear All,
I can't publish my website to the remote server, even though everything seems to be working properly with connection to the remote server. No error messages and the successful connection message appears. I have emptied out the Safari cache but still do not see the updates appearing on the website. I'm working with Dreamweaver CS5.5 on a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Very frustrating.

Then you are probably publishing to the wrong location - the directory above the 'site' root. Where does your host tell you to put your html files? As John suggests, it's often 'public_html', but it could be something else and it's possible that it should be left blank. You need to check your instructions from your host to be sure.
When I entered what the server provider gave me, /admin, I could not connect. When II left the root blank, I was able to connect. I just now looked at the remote server info and entered that file information and was also able to connect, then deleted the cache, "put" files again, but still no updates.
Dear All,
I've solved the problem. For some reason Netsonic was creating another subfolder within my root file and everything was publishing to that sub-file instead of replacing the old main file directory. When I saw what was happening in the remote site file directory, I sent my "put" file to the new file that had been created and everything worked fine. By the way, "public_html" did not work as a root directory, either -- but the problem is solved, so that's the main thing. Thanks to all who replied.
