HI Joe,

You dragged the App or the Set-up to Trash??

In case you dragged the set-up, you can download it again and if it is the App that you draaged to trash, then you can do a Re-install and you will get your App back.

I am using windows 7, i accidentally drag the photoshop cs 6 folder to the trash, now i can;t install the latest beta. What can i do, short of wiping out my entire hard drive

HI Joe,

Re-install should work. What problem you are facing in re-install?? Is there any error which you are getting?

Please attach the screen shot of the error.

well it basically says that a previous version of cs6 needs to be uninstall but i can;t because i deleted it manually. I haven't tried to install the beta again, i may try when i get home. What do you advise me to do?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well as I have the same problem with CS6 saying there is a previous install and won't install a fresh version.

the trick is to reinstall the beta, uninstall it and you;re done

I've tried that but it says "A conflicting or pre-release version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from the current media"

I've been through my computer and deleted all references to CS6.

I've also been through the registry and done the same.

Still no joy...

What type of machine are you on? What have you done so far? How did you try to uninstall? Did you let the app uninstall itself or did you try to delete it?

Installing unreleased unoffical software from a non-adobe site will cause you trouble!

the complete error message I'm getting with regard to installing CS6 beta is...

"A conflicting or pre-release version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from the current media.

If the problem persists, please contact Customer Support for further assistance"

I'm running windows 7 and have un-installed the previous (dodgy) version of CS6 beta through the control panel.

I then went though the 'C' drive and removed all references I could find to CS6.

I then used regedit to search the registry and again removed all references I could find to CS6.

None of the above actions has helped and I'm still getting the same error message about a previous version of CS6 being on my computer.

If anyone could offer any advice it would be very gratefully received...

Thank you so much for your help Pete, your cleaner script worked a treat and I'm now able to install the beta version of CS6.

I'm a happy (and a more careful) man now...
