Having two major problems. Until recently, all of my Bridge folders opened up with regular thumbnails, then recently one folder opened up with only DNG icons that had previously been regular thumbnails. I then went to download images from my wife's camera - a Canon Powershot G9 and only came up with CR2 icons on the Photo Downloader, then when trying to download images from my Nikon D300, had NEF icons. Neither of these problems had occurred before. I had recently tried to make more space on hard drive by eliminating a file/command I had read about - a Blobs.MYD. Not sure if that started the problem. Have tried reinstalling Photoshop CS3 and updated Camera Raw (4.6) but not sure if I put it in right location. Probably have goofed up a ton of stuff, so not sure how to clean up my big mess. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Have tried to purge cache, reset things, etc. all to no avail! Thanks in advance for any help. I am not a techie, so need really specific instructions/guidance!
There was a bug in one of the versions of ACR and the Adobe DNG Converter that affected the Photo Downloader and Bridge. Can't remember off-hand which version and the forums were split by platform since then.
At any rate, you should make certain that Photoshop is updated to version 10.0.1, Bridge to 18.104.22.168, and Adobe Camera Raw to 4.6.
Also make sure the Camera Raw.plugin file is in its correct location and that you have only one instance of the file installed.
Note that the path to the correct folder begins with the name of your Hard Disk. You do not want your home folder or your user library involved at all here.

Thanks for your time and suggestion - still not working. More info that may or may not help. In addition to the above problems, when I try to open up thumbnails that do have an image on them, I get a message that says Photoshop doesn't recognize file type - so am now totally unable to do any work on Photoshop! I'm sure that in trying to correct things have made things even worse- as may be noticed by the two snapshots I've attached. The first is one from a library from my user section. The second library image is from my hard drive. Hopefully you and others aren't laughing or crying too much over what you see - redundantcy, etc! All of my energies have focused on taking photos, obviously none to proper setup/use of organizing things on my Mac. But after the laughing has stopped, any help will be tremendously appreciated - am most anxious to getting back to working with and saving images
I appreciate your suggestions, still- nothing seems to be working. Will try and delete Photoshop CS3 again and start all over. One other question. Would it be helpful if I went back to my backup (Time Machine) and try moving Photoshop back from the backup disc and replacing the one that seems to be hanging up in all these different areas? Don't know if you saw what I put out for discussion yesterday with two images of two different libraries and how they are configured? Thanks again for any thoughts.
Thanks for the suggestion. Have just reinstalled Photoshop CS3 and
have a limited bit of success and also followed your suggestion.
Still having a problem. I used to be able to put one of the memory
chips in our card reader and thumbnails would appear on Bridge Photo
downloader. Now, only CR2 icons or NEF icons appear - unless I have
camera directly plugged into computer - which is much slower and also
wears down battery. Any suggestions?
Many thanks for your time.
