When using PSE 9 to control printing using a paper-specific ICC profile (as I am used to doing), all output from my new Epson Artisan 1430 A3+ printer had a green cast. This was not a problem when printing the same images to a Canon A4 printer. After trying many variations, I could obtain acceptable output if I had the printer rather than PSE control output with Printer Preferences set to Colour Controls>AdobeRGB.
A review of this printer from what I consider a highly credible source (http://www.photoreview.com.au/reviews/printers/epson-artisan-1430-inkj et-printer) stated that similar results could be obtained with either PSE or the printer controlling output. (Incidently, using another software package to print (Corel PaintShop Pro 4) also gave atrocious results.)
Checking with Espon support, I have the most current version of the Epson drivers.
1) Should I just accept that I need to abandon what is generally accepted as best practice and have the Espon control output rather than PSE
or
2) Do I have a faulty printer?
At times it is possible that due to system/app/printer manufacturer settings we do not get the desired print output. In such cases it is wise to choose printer manages color and then choose appropriate color profile to print with. You can also try printing from Elements Organizer with same settings and check if it is fine.

Hopefully resetting the printer preferences to default and then changing the settings as appropriate like paper type etc should help.
