I'm running Ae CS 5 (10.0.2.4) in OS X (10.7.2) and I'd like to monitor my comps through a DVCPRO HD deck (Panasonic HD1200a). I can monitor via firewire in FCP just fine, but no matter what I do with the preview settings in Ae I get a grey screen on my monitor, it reports it's getting 720p/60, which is fine. Any ideas?
No AJA, BM or Matrox card. I cut in MC 6, with a Nitris DX. The DVCPRO HD deck is via Firewire.
EDIT: My mention of FCP above is just to give some context that the deck does work and is attached. I can see video through it via Firewire in FCP.
Yes, I believe I have the correct settings. I can't get anything to show using "Firewire > Apple Firewire NTSC" in the Video Preview settings either.
Using "DVCPRO HD > DVCPro HD (720p60)" I get a grey screen on my monitor, which reports it's showing 720/60. However, if it swich to "DVCPRO HD > DVCPro HD (1080p30)" which I know won't work because this deck won't do 1080p, I get a black screen. So, something is making it through the deck.
Again, I can open up FCP and without touching anything on the deck or the monitor get 720/60 to my client monitor through Firewire.
