Installing CS5 causes all Microsoft programs to fail

I am trying to have CS5 for Web and 2 times it has failed during installation. After, none of my Microsoft programs will run anymore. This includes Excle, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc. When I double click them, the hour glass comes up for a half second, then nothing*
