Suppress View/Display of Comment Numbers (Acrobat Pro)

Forgive me if I am running a corporate version of Acrobat that has not been updated, but I have a nagging issue.

How did I enable display of and how do I suppress display of the comment numbers on my install of Acrobat (Ver 8 Pro, Win XP).
