I have a couple of friends that are having an issue with Mac OS and CS5. As you know , we should be able to switch using teh Get Info and activate the 32 bit switch. It looks like it works, but every time PS starts up it starts in 64 bit. This is happening on both a SL and Lion version of OS. Any ideas other than trash prefs? thanks. We have done exhustive repair disk permissions, etc so I am a bit stuck on what might be the cause.
No, I don't believe that would be the case. I can switch back and forth with ease and don't have any issues with a time delay. I'll check and see if mini bridge or some other tie is running? Anything else you can point me towards?
We're having the same issue thru our support portal where we've had a dozen or so
in the last month where CS5.x won't open in 32 bit even though the 32 bit switch is
checked in the Get Info dialog. Repairing disk permissions, creating a new admin,
deleting PS prefs, changing R/W permissions on PS folders, etc., etc., ad infitum
and nothing works. A few have even re-installed CS5.x to no avail and we've seen
this issue on Snow Leopard and all versions of Lion.
And it has nothing to do with a user re-starting CS5 too quickly as some of these
systems have been running in 32 bit mode as default for several months. Also, the
issue didn't coincide with any OS X or CS5.x update that we can figure.
