INDD CS5 crashes when opening a document created on a different computer

A colleague sent me a document created in INDD CS5 and I cannot open it because INDD crashes every time I try. All the docs created on m computer open without trouble. Is there any way to troubleshoot what is wrong with this document so I can open it? I am on a Mac OS. Thanks!

    Do you get a crash report? Post it at Pastebin.com and put a link to it here.

    I am no expert with crash but "links" seems to be the issue here...

     

    May we know your friend has send you the complete package or just the Indd file.

     

    If it a package then move the file to teh different location on the computer and then try and open it.

    I don't think it's links, unless perhaps there are InCopy assignments involved -- the crash report seems to have something to do with a workgroup, something I'm not familiar with at all and have not seen previously in a crash report.

    Please update to 7.0.4.553.

     

    I'm not too sure about the workgroup stuff, but I do think the errors occur when trying to parse links (or link information) in the document. I wonder if this is failure to properly read an earlier-version document... If you have CS4 or CS3 you might try that as well.
