Certain competing applications have bundled copies of Avant Garde Gothic in various releases. From the mid 1990s to present CorelDRAW has included Avant Garde in its set of 1000+ fonts. Deneba Canvas had a 2000 font collection, mostly URW created fonts. However, many of those were well-made look-alikes with odd names.
The collection of bundled fonts used to be a big item in any new release of a vector drawing program. Now the bundled fonts are hardly mentioned, if at all. Adobe hasn't been very generous at all in terms of bundling fonts with apps since the early to mid 1990s. I hated Illustrator 4, but at least it had a reasonably decent collection of fonts (most of which were Berthold licensed faces like Akzidenz Grotesk). PageMaker had a decent 200 font collection. There wasn't a whole lot of overlap between the AI and PM font collections, so with both you would have a reasonably decent group of typefaces. I expected to see more bundled typefaces with Master Collection CS5.5. Not a whole lot. And I haven't found too much use for the Adobe Text bonus download.
I was kind of surprised CorelDRAW went nowhere with its Mac platform efforts. Even if the application itself had certain shortcomings the 1000 Bitstream, ITC and URW fonts along with all the clipart made the overall package quite valuable.
