AC Milan may do well, but I hope LFC KEEPS Aquilani and combines him with Meireles, Adam, Lucas, Downing, Cole, Maxi and Gerrard to form the dominant midfield  (taking some turns) in world football.  With Carroll and Suarez up top and if the defense can get sorted, Liverpool could gel and win the Premiership.  Aguilani showed more in his quarter hour plus than anyone other than Agger displayed in 90 minutes!  He is in form and at the peak of his abilities, and I say Milan can't have him!!!!  Go Reds.

Adams was impressive, and Suarez! even though he missed his chances.  Nice goal by Henderson!  A dominating performance despite the last minute concession.  Enrique impressed me. He gets Suarez's movement and attacks well down the flank.  Adams' passes were mostly excellent!

Yes, that was more like it. Not only was it a sell-out at Anfield, but the fans were making more noise too!

Yes, good news - Stevie's job is secure!

Good result at Man City, and really should have scored more - which is the story of this season.

The stats show LFC have had more shots at goal, won more corners and hit the woodwork more times than any other Prem League team.  Sadly those stats don't win championships.

I was not sure at all about King Kenny's tactics today - 5 defenders against the team that scored least goals away from home and leaving Bellamy and Carroll on the subs' bench. 

It's away to Bolton next Saturday then home matches against Man City in the League Cup and Trafford Rovers in the FA Cup.

I got to watch the match last night after work because I had it set to record, plus a friend bet me 50 bucks on the tie!  So basically, I got paid to enjoy a great win!  On to Wembley!!

I woke up with a start at 3:30am this morning (it's still Saturday here!) and realized I had forgotten to set the match to record.  Megan wondered later why I had left the bedroom.  I was downstairs watching it live!!  What a great result!! 

What a great week for the club!

Not the most convincing of wins, but LFC's name is on the trophy.

Not a very nice headline, but goes a long way to explaining the club's fall from the top and the exodus of players to Real Madrdi, Barcelona, Chelsea, &c.

I see Chelsea are asking for some kind of amnesty, as four of their players are excluded from the final because of misconduct via an accumulation of red and yellow cards.

I have no sympathy - these guys know the rules, and UEFA, bless them, are trying to encourage fair play.

Terry's in a mess, as he's also facing criminal prosecution for racist conduct against Ferdinand (not that one, his cousin who plays for Queens Park Rangers).

However, if Chelsea do win the Champions League, it seems he may be allowed to receive the trophy in the stadium as Club Captain.  This has not gone down well because of his recent conduct.  And I don't buy the sympathy argument of him "missing this year's final" and screwing up his penalty v the Manks in 2008 in Moscow.

Seeing John Terry lift the Champions League trophy would be grotesque (and that's a London newspaper!)

Anyway, the BIG one is next Saturday, 5:15 pm (GMT+1), the FA Cup Final from Wembley.  I've not got a ticket - again lots of arguments as LFE and EFC got around 35,000 tickets each for the semi-final, but LFC and Chlesea now get around 25,000 tickets, as the "FA Family" take the remaining 40,000.

Then there's the row about the kick-off time of 5:15 pm.  Traditionally it's 3pm.  Now the semi-final was brought forward to a 12:30pm kick-off supposedly to reduce the opportuinty for pre-match drinking and not to upset the locals (as if 100,000 people could tip-toe to the stadium).  This has gone out of the window as a new set of prioriites are "discovered".   Why don't the FA say it's all about TV; the FA Cup no longer takes precendence over the Prem League, as it's more important not to interrupt the Trafford Rovers fans somewhere in the Far East.  The UK fans who actually pay to travel to the stadium, buy the match-day tickets and spend moeny in and around London count for nothing, as the FA know they are so dedicated to following their team.

And, then Chelsea visit Liverpool on Tues 8th May in the Prem League fixture, originally scheduled for Cup Final Day. I have a ticket for that match; let's hope it's LFC parading the FA Cup!
