id like to know if there is an equivalent tool in illustrator like in photoshop when we can use the edit>transform>perspective
im trying to distort a texture in illustrator using perspective.its a jpeg file,im also trying to use the new grid perspective,
any sugestions pls.
Prspective grid does not work with raster images you would have to live trace the object and then apply it to the grid.
However there are ways of doing what you wish
1.select the image it has to be embedded and go to Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Mesh
2. give it a 1 row 1 column setting
3. then Select the Free Transform Tool for the Tool Panel
4 Click on one of the croners and then hold the command shift option keys on the Mac or Control Alt Shift keys on pc and then drag
you get this
Or make make the image a symbol and then make a rectangle path for instance and
1. Go to Effects>3D>Extrude and Bevel or Rotate
2 adjust the view and give it a prespective setting as well.
3. click on Map Art
4. In the Map Art window select the face of the object you want the art to be mapped to
5. select the symbol art
