Changing the height of spry menu bar

Hi, Im trying to change the height of spry menu horizontal but instead is changing the table widh that the menu bar is located into. The actual height of the spry menu doesnt. Can anyone help

Im trying to do that by changing the height property in ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.

    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a {

        padding: 2.5em 0.75em;

    }

    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a { /* to reset for submenu items */

        padding: 0.5em 0.75em;

    }
