I noticed there is no kepler support mentioned on the cs6 page.
Now that they can use Dual cards (with the tesla) does this mean we can expect to see the GTX 690 supported, or do I just have to wait and see?
680 support would be nice... but 690 would be awesome.
thanks.
Tesla C2075 only works in combination with a Quadro card, not with a GTX card. With the limited 448 CUDA cores, and very few people willing to invest in a Quadro 4000+ AND a Tesla C2075 for a meager € 3K+, it will be some time to see whether that investment pays off. Maximus appears only attractive for people with maximum budgets.
Dual cards are not supported in PR with the exception of Quadro+Tesla, and only Tesla will be active for CUDA MPE. AE does support dual cards. For the rest, wait and see. Notice that hardware MPE in AE for the ray tracing 3D effect is limited to Quadro cards only.
There are many GTX cards that can and do accelerate the ray-traced 3D renderer in After Effects CS6.
My comment was specific to the new generation of cards, the Kepler class of cards, of which the GTX 680 is one. For those newer cards, we have to do some extra engineering work.
See this page for the current set of cards that After Effects CS6 will use for the GPU-accelerated ray-traced 3D renderer:
