Problem with freezing after opening document info window

Could someone please help me with where to post this question/problem. I am running CS5 Master Suite and when I open the document info window from within illi, indesign or DW the program freezes; the document info window remains blank and mouse clicks no longer work. The only way to exit the program is to force quit. Macbook with 10.6.8 OS. I have trid uninstalling and reinstalling. Could I have a setting wrong that would cause this? The document info window is important for publishing ebooks from within Indesign and I kinda need it to work. Any help or direction on how to approach this problem would be greatly appreciated.
