Transcript Error when opening dreamweaver cs5.5 mac HELP!

i have tried renaming the configuration folder by going through application's/dreamweaver cs5.5/configurations

and changing the folder to configurations old but it comes up with this message! Pleese help assignment due in dreamweaver tommorow and i need to fix the problem

    Your cache seems to be corrupt.

    there is no dreamweaver file so i get up to the Mac OS X: Macintosh HD:<username>:Library:Application Support: but cannot continue

    Assuming this is what you see in Application Support, did you try going inside CS 5.5 folder?

     

    Btw, no offense inteded - but are you using a Legit version of Adobe?

    Yes it is a legit version and yesterday it was working and today its randomly stopped working.

    where would i go from here ?

    In CS5.5 folder, can you right click Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 and 'Show Package Contents' and post a screenhsot?

    This is weird but, one last try - Application Support : CS5.5 : en-US - see if you have a folder called 'Configuration' here and let us know if it's present

    theres a folder called configuration under service manager

    No, don't go to ServiceManager. Look it up here:

    Go to en_US instead of Configuration and see if you have a folder named 'Configuration' inside this.

    You've chosen CONFIGURATION folder on the left. SELECT THE ONE BELOW IT - en-US

    That's weird. I don't see a MacFileCache file in any of your folders.

     

    Can you try re-installing just Dreamweaver on your system? See if this fixes the error. If it still doesn't I think we need to do a remote support using something like LogMeIn...

    i may have to Its strange because yesterday it was working perfectly and i havnt done anything differently.

    In Finder, can you click on Go > Go To Folder and type in this: ~/Library/Preferences to see where it takes you?

    With all those missing folder, wouldn't it just be easier to re-install DW?  You can re-install a single app from the Suite without affecting the rest.  Furthermore, even DW's local copy of the Site Definitions are in that configuration folder in the library which is obviously missing so there is really nothing left to lose at this point.  See David's thread on the site definitions location ( http://forums.adobe.com/thread/439283 ).

     

    Before you do re-install though I'd recommend running a repair permissions on your entire system to ensure the installer can write where it needs to.  That can be found in the Disk Utility (cmd+space to get spotlight and then type disk utility to find it quick).

    yeah i think its easier to just red install it i dont get what happened though! i was using it perfectly 2 days ago

    Re-installed everything working! woohoo and i did the disk repair thing which repaired alot of problems on my drive.
