Crash on Import

I know I've seen this on the forum before, but can not find where anyone has found a solution.  Flash CS5 becomes unresponsive as soon as I try to import an image.  It doesn't matter if I try the stage or library.  Also the image doesn't matter, as I never get far enough to choose an image.

 

I have thrown away the preferences, uninstalled, used the Adobe Cleaner, and reinstalled.  I still get the same message.  However, this just started happening today.  I could import yesterday.

 

Anyone have any suggestions?  I'm getting desperate.
