When I import a video, it is automatically broken up into clips. How do I import without being broken up into clips?

What method are you using to import the video and what device are you importing them from?

Also, which version of the program are you using?

DVDs are made up a short VOB files. Could that be it?

Have you browsed the DVD disc? Premiere Elements wouldn't break the VOBs into smaller files.

When you launch Organizer, a process named ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe, starts running, its function is to automatically analyze clips and put tags to it, and it also does 'scene detect'. In this process, after auto-analyzing clips, if the clip contains different scenes(scenes separated by black frames), then it shows the differnt scens the clip is composed of.

This might be the case with you.

So, you can try killing the process ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe, from Task manager, before importing your videos. Anyways, i dont think that splitted clips, in your case, will do any harm or will reduce any functionality.
