No buttons for Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip widget

I am having issues with the spry image slideshow  with filmstrip.   I can not figure out why the buttons disappeared.  When I was installing the slideshow to the site I am pretty sure I only changed the size so that it would fit the page.  Once I got that figured out I noticed the buttons where no longer there.  Also the arrows for the thumbnail pictures would not work.  I was able to make some adjustments to get the arrows to work with thumbnails.  Still having problems with the play and next and previous buttons. They are not visible.  Any help would be appreciated.  The site is http://abbeyhelpsbrokenhearts.com/story.html

    I think it is a problem with the css for the page.  I moved other elements around on the page and got a white section under the photos.  This white section has the buttons to move to the new slide. 

     

    I created a new test page and just put the slideshow in by itself.  I get this white section below here also. 

    New Question.  How do I uninstall the widget then reinstall to back to the default configureations?
