Updating Photoshop CS4 11.0 to 11.0.2 fails

Apr 30, 2012 5:01 PM

Photoshop 11.0 on Mac OS X 10.7.3

After reinstalling Photoshop on my new iMac I'm unable to run the 11.0.2 upgrade installer. It tells me that 11.0.2 is "already installed".

The "About" box in Photoshop shows the version as 11.0.

Any ideas?

Any chance you have a second copy installed (maybe moved a copy?).

Maybe the installer is looking at the copy in Time Machine or a bootable backup volume that is mounted?

Try temporarily unmounting the appropriate volume(s) with Apple's Disk Utility.

There's also the possibility that you failed to use the Adobe Uninstaller before re-installing Photoshop.

If that was the the unfortunate case (very bad move), you now need to look for, download and run the CS4Clean script.
