So I have had no problems (performance) with LR4.0 -- and have posted this a number of times.
So I installed 4.1 RC2 and tried editing a newly imported photo. The sliders seem to do nothing??? So then I waited and 4 or 5 seconds later
As an example, I dragged the Exposure up about 50 points -- no change to the photo. Then a few seconds went by and the photo changed.
NOTHING like this before.
I kept pthe 4.0 install (I had renamed it so it did not get deleted). I renamed it back and ran that -- worked perfectly -- dalay might have
been a few milliseconds.
There is something going on there that is NOT simple performance of LR4!!!
So I am back in 4.0 and everything is fine.
I am working on a new Windows-7 64 install on a new PC purchased to support LR4 (had XP before).
It is running Sophos firewall and virus protection. Other than LR and CS6 its used for software development and
has no nasty web things running on it.
Sorry I can't be of any real help, but I have found the opposite to be true. LR 4 was slower--the new release RC2 is much more precise and faster both on sliders and changing modules. (Win7 64 bit Ultimate; 8GB RAM; i5 M480)
Are you talking about the secondary display?

No, I can only see it on the second monitor.
Are you sure? Can you post a screenshot of both RC1 and RC2 with the same
picture and same adjustments? If this is indeed the case, that's a serious
Same for me (Win 7 64-bit, 8GB RAM, Quad Q8400). I was OK with the original release. RC 1 added switching off sharpening when moving the sliders, which was annoying, but they were still responsive. With RC2 sharpening is no longer turned off, but there is now a definite lag when moving the sliders. I've gone back to RC1. Things are going backwards for me.
LR4 RC2 is very slow!
Guys please, we know its beta, please do not force us buying new computers by putting code on code, fix the code. My camera didnt change, and LR3.6 was working fine with the same files.
There's is definitely a memory leak too.
Using Free Memory app on Mac and I see how it behaves different on my computer. I am on LR since version one.
