for some reason my text leading on all fonts is 14,4pts,
That would be the "automatic" amount for 12 pt type with the default 120% leading.
You also need to set the position of the first baseline where you want it.
Hello and thank you both for your replies.
id also like to make it a paragraph style to apply it to my text frames, but im confused how to do it.
i go to the paragraph style dialogue box,and i dont know how to set it,so i can apply it to all my text frames
so im doing it one at a time in orderr to set each text frame to snap to the baseline grid.
Align to Baseline Grid is a paragraph attribute, not a frame attribute, so you normally include it in the paragraph style definition.
Most of the time I find there's no reason to invoke align to grid if you create your styles carefully (it's really mostly useful for getting body text back on grid when some other text or object is between two paragraphs). May I ask why you feel you need to include it for all frames?
The only reason text gets out-of-line is if there is somthing to push it off the "natural" grid -- a frame starting at a different height, or a graphic, or paragraph that uses different leading or adds paragraph spacing.
