Hi,
I have trying to help my client to use Folio Builder to create Folios and publish them onto iPad.
He created login on acrobat.com and all works fine online.
But when he tries to login into folio builder in InDesign with same login information, he gets 'Signin Failed...Please try again' message.
I tried my login (which work on my machine) and it failed as well. We try all latest updates still no luck.
It looks like high security firewall/proxy settings though we tried disabling local firewall but no luck.
Can anyone tell me the port number Adobe uses to login from Folio builder so that we can open it in Domain level firewall?
Much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kumar
Hi Kumar,
Could you provide me with some more information to help us narrow down the problem for you?
- What build of the Folio Builder panel do you have installed?
When you open the panel, at the bottom there is some grey text that is the version. The latest version is 3.3.0.20110622_m_659505. This panel comes with version 1.1.1 of the Folio Producer tools.
- Have you installed all the Adobe updates?
Under the Help menu of InDesign, there is an "Updates..." menu item. Run this and see if everything has been updated for InDesign
- Are you able to sign into other extensions?
Open the CS Review panel (Window > Extensions > CS Review) and see if you are able to log in to that panel. When you are signed in, the CS Live menu in the upper right of InDesign will change icons and have have a filled in blue circle.
Thanks,
S
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for your reply.
Latest version of foilio installed 1.1.1
Adobe Updates installed
Can’t sign into other extensions.
It may be possibility that port which adobe uses for folio builder is blocked. Any idea on port number or any logs I could provide to help you narrow this down?
I will appreciate all your help on this.
Thanks
Kumar
Hi there,
the problem is, that Folio Builder does not support proxy authorisation on the mac. I just had a meeting with two of our IT guys and they monitored my IP connection status. Folio Builder tries to connect to the proxy as "anonymous" which of course is rejected.
Will there be a fix in the future for that issue?
Thanks,
Guido
Hi
We are having exactly the same problem. We cannot sign into Acrobat.com through Folio Builder presumably because of our Firewall proxy. We have asked IT to shut down the firewall temporarily but we still had no joy. Surely this is a problem that will be affecting many companies?
This is all very frustrating as we purchased 5.5 in order to use the DPS tools. It seems that we are now unable to use them. Short of taking my work iMac home with me in a taxi can anyone suggest a way around this problem?
Please can someone from Adobe advise if/when there will be fix for this.
Thanks
