Keeping the script opened go back to AE

Hello,

I would like to know how i can go back to AE keeping a script opened ( launched),

is there a function to switch the focus between AE and a script ?

If you define your UI as a window (instead of a modal dialog), you should be able to jump back an forth between AE and the script UI. Is that what you're asking?

I would like to do this with a modal dialog script, jump back an forth between AE and the script. is this possible too?

I haven't tried it, but I would be surprised if you could. "modal dialog" kind of implies that you have to dismiss it before you can return to the app that generated it. Why do you want it to be a dialog vs. a window?

Cause i didn't know that before, it was easier to set
fixed bounds to the window and i thought there was no this differences between windows.
When you launch a script ui kind of from the script menu you also use a window and not a panel, why you can go back to AE with these scripts?
What is the difference between this two windows?
