Have to click the play button on the playbar  twice to proceed

I have a project with a Click Box which displays an image when clicked.

After that I want the user to click on the Play button on the Skin to move to the next slide.

Unfortunately, to move forward the user must click twice on the Play button.

Any idea why they need to click twice instead of once?

Thank you for your thoughts,

David Gambal

This is most likely a focus issue.  When your user is interacting with the click box on the slide the focus is on that SWF. When they click the button on the playbar, their first click just shifts the focus to the playbar SWF.  Only the second click operates the button.

Go to Preferences > Project > Publish Settings > Externalise Resources.  Do you have Skin ticked for externalise or unticked for embedded?

    Hi David

Another thing it could be is a timing issue. Normally a Click Box will pause the slide when its end is reached. So if perhaps the user clicks the Click Box before the pause point has been reached, then chooses to click the Play button, the playhead could be encountering the pause point. If this happens, they would then need to click again to release the pause.

Can you post a screen capture of the timeline for the slide?

    Cheers... Rick

You probably need to go into Project > Skin Editor > Playbar settings and redefine the colours again.

Externalising the skin means that it is loaded as a separate SWF file to the Captivate content SWF.  An embedded skin is encapsulated inside the content SWF.

I'm not certain why externalising fixed your issue, but the important thing is that you have a fix!

Sorry.  I have no idea what might be causing this issue or whether it is even connected to the previous issue.

I suggest you remove and replace your Skin with a new one from the current Captivat version (to eliminate the possibility that the skin is not compatible) and if the issue still persists, then remove the faulty quiz questions and create new ones from scratch.
